The Classics Club Spin has spun me to Yorkshire!

Seredipity!

This morning – a few hours before the spin – I pulled ‘Anderby Wold’ by Winifred Holtby from my Virago bookcase, to read for All Very Virago All August.

I love Winifred Holtby, but because she didn’t write many books I’m trying to spread them out. But I decided it was time.

And the spin agreed with me:

Anderby Wold

#17 – Anderby Wold by Winifred Holtby

I couldn’t be more pleased!

How was the spin for you?

  1. It sounds as if the spin has chosen the perfect book for you this time! I loved South Riding and The Land of Green Ginger but haven’t read this one yet.

  2. Oooh, lovely! I loved South Riding. I’ve also read The Land of Green Ginger, which I didn’t love quite as much, but I did find entertaining; and The Crowded Street, which I liked more. Anderby Wold is on my to-read list, so I look forward to reading your thoughts.

My spin pick was One of Ours by Willa Cather, so I’m looking forward to it.
