…… it was a long time ago, back when I was just Jane and I hadn’t quite invented Fleur.
I had a book token, I wanted buy something I wouldn’t normally but for myself – or at least something that I would have thought twice about. I spotted a large hardback book that looked so very promising. I didn’t know the title or the author, but I knew that I had to bring the book home. And so I did.
Since then I’ve started it so many times but never finished it. It wasn’t that I didn’t love it, but because I did; because it was a special book to be saved up.
But now it’s time.
The schedule looks like this:
Volume I: Mr Norrell (261 pages) – review to be posted on 18th January
Volume II: Jonathan Strange (368 pages) – review to be posted on 25th January
Volume III: John Uskglass (369 pages) – review to be posted on 1st February
I’m thinking of it not as one big book, but as a drama in three acts.
And other reading may have to wait, because this is the story that is calling me now …..
