A Dog Blogs: Time for That Book Game

2012-02-15_20-31-03_210Hello world! It’s me – Briar!

I’m out on my bed in the Aga room tonight being cosy, and guarding the books of course. But last night I took Jane out in the garden to photogrpah some books, because we haven’t had a round of my game for quite a while now.

When you look at the pictures you can see the sky getting darker and the promenade lights coming on, because Jane had to run around the house in between pictures, to fetch the right books.

You might remember how this works because we have done it before –  once , twice, three times  – but I’ll explain it again, just in case.

We think of a person with a lovely blog, we pick five books from our shelves to represent that blogger, we take a picture and make a list, and then you get to guess who it is.

It could be you! Have a guess in the comments! Or if you can’t guess have a look in the sidebar and follow a link to someone you haven’t met before. You might find an answer and you will definitely find a lovely blog.

Here’s the first one:

Cluny Brown by Margery Sharp
Miss Buncle’s Book by D E Stevenson
The Ladies of Lyndon by Margaret Kennedy
64 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff
Armadale by Wilkie Collins

Here’s another:

In The Woods by Tana French
Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackery
A Glass of Blessings by Barbara Pym
The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty
Diving Belles by Lucy Wood

And here’s the last one for this round:

Red Pottage by Mary Cholmondeley
The Home-Maker by Dorothy Canfield Fisher
Up The Country by Emily Eden
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
No Mark Upon Her by Deborah Crombie

And now I am going to snuggle up and have a sleepy.

But I’ll be back to look at the guesses, and I’ll tell you the answers in a few days.

  1. Oh, Briar, I don’t think you could have picked a nicer group of books and their humans. I hope that’s Thomas, whose blog I’m glad seeing more of, {especially because I guessed him wrong last time) and two of my longtime favorites, Lisa and JoAnn. And I hope a lot more people meet them because of you.

  2. Hi Briar – you do look comfy. 🙂

No 1 has me beat – I have no idea.

No 2 – I also think is JoAnn from Lakeside Musing

No 3 – definitely Lisa from TBR 313

  3. Oh, Briar this is so much fun! The first stack of books reminds me of Thomas from My Porch. The second one looks strangely familiar (big news, I finished Vanity Fair today!)… and the third can’t be anyone other than Lisa from TBR 313 🙂

  4. Thank you, ladies, for putting me out of my misery! I had a chuckle at the sight of Red Pottage. Last weekend I spied it at a bookshop and asked my husband to remember the title so I could check it for reviews. He said ‘Okay, I’ll just think of red cabbage’…oh that man.
