As it was low tide at walk time we took Briar down to Battery Rocks. She loves playing on the beach, swimming in the sea, climbing over the rocks, sniffing in rock pools …
And while we were down there we met Man on a Beach, who travels around Cornwall’s beaches, filming and asking people what the beach means to them.
This is where he, and we, walked this morning:
You can also see my fiance being interviewed on his site, with Briar and I playing in the background.
I must confess that I retreated hastily, because I was wearing my scruffiest dog-walking clothes, and because it was one of those days when I had to hide unwashed hair under a hat.
I planned to shower, wash my hair, and get into professional mode when we went home, because I had a job interview just a little later in the day.
And, after nearly a year of unemployment, I was offered the job!
It’s not perfect, but it could be interesting, and I need something new to push all of the horrible things that happened with my last employer out of my head.
So now I’m delighted, but I’m also rather scared. And I am not going to be able to settle to write anything coherent tonight.
But hopefully soon …
How fun to see a bit of Cornwall! And congratulations on the job 🙂
Congratulations on getting the job!!
Congratulations on the new job!
Well now you’ve done it: set up a great yearning to see Cornwall again and to stand by the sea, inhaling the wonderful air. I thoroughly enjoyed the clips. Best of all was the news about the job. It will be strange at first, being back at work after a hiatus, but once you get your sea legs again, off you’ll sail. I played the clip twice, just to hear the lovely Cornish accent.
Hi: Congratulations on being offered a job!
And I am SO glad to hear that someone else in the world is hiding their unwashed hair under a hat and hiking about in mucky dog clothes… Thanks! Ruby
Oh, congratulations, Jane!
So happy about the new job!!! Best of Luck!
How lovely – what a beautiful place to live.
Hope the new job will turn out well for you.
Congratulations!!! I’m in the same boat, and I had an interview today too. Maybe your good news will be contagious!
Congratulations.
Adding my congratulations – hopefully even if it isn’t a perfect fit, it will bring good things, and maybe lead to something else.
Well done on the job, hopefully it will bring some interim challenges until the right thing comes along.
Congratulations Jane. And lovely to see your part of the world – it’s been ages since I was in Cornwall!
Congratulations on the new job, Jane!
Oh that is such good news Jane – I hope that it works out well for you
Huge congratulations on the new job, Jane!
I’m so pleased for you about the job. And surely part of the joy of dog walking is that you’re allowed to be scruffy.
Thank you for that wonderful little video of home. Much appreciated.
Congrats on the job! Wonderful news.
Hurray!!! Brilliant news on the job – well done 🙂
Congratulations Jane! And thank you for sharing a bit of Cornwall with us.
Hooray and congratulations, Jane! Now off to watch your video clip!
Good news about the job.
I’m so excited for you!
Congratulations on the new job, I hope everything turns out well for you. Your bit of the coast seems amazingly similar to mine on the video, except the ‘lumps’ in the distance are the Bass Rock and North Berwick Law.
Congratulations on the job! 🙂
Congrats on getting the job, great news!
