Just quote a couple of spoiler-free sentences from the book you’re reading to tempt other readers.
Here is mine:-
“Fleur was the name hazardously bestowed at birth, as always in these cases before they know what you are going to turn out like. Not that I looked too bad, it was only that Fleur wasn’t the right name, and yet it was mine, as are the names of those melancholy Joys, those timid Victors, the inglorious Glorias and the materialistic Angelas one is bound to meet in the course of a long life of change and infiltration; and I once met a Lancelot who, I assure you, had nothing to do with chivalry.”
It doesn’t tell you too much about the book – which is wonderful – but I just had to share those particular sentences.

This is wonderful…I can see why you couldn’t resist! And I once knew a very pessimistic Hope.
I love this teaser!! Is that how you came up with your blog name by any chance?

Wonderful teaser. Did you name your blog after Fleur?
Glad you posted that!
Teaser Tuesdays: The Imposter’s Daughter by Laurie Sandell
Lovely teaser. Any connection between the novel and your blog name?
The name came from another literary Fleur – Fleur Forsyte from the Forsyte Saga. My cousin named her kitten Fleur and I was trying to recall the book and the character, but it just wouldn’t come to me. I knew it was alliterative and the name Fleur Fisher came into my head – and stuck!
Haha I really like that teaser! Nice choice. Here is my link: http://thecrowdedleaf.wordpress.com/2009/11/17/teaser-tuesday-double-or-nothin.
delightful–and true. Sometimes our names have nothing to do with who we are. my teaser is here and I have a little something for you today.
Great teaser! My first name is Joy and people are always quick to tell me how well it suits. It’s gets kind of old sometimes, but better that that to be thought dour Joy. š
Those two sentences are definitely filled with compelling language!

Yes, I know exactly what she means! I read this one a few years back and absolutely loved it! But Muriel Spark is one of my favorites and I love just about everything of hers that I’ve read. Wonderful teaser!
A lovely teaser and a lovely name! I’ve always liked the name Evangeline, well ever since watching The House of Eliott.
Thanks for this teaser and your comment. I have wondered about your blog name.
I’ve always wondered how you decided on the name. Thanks for the inside scoop š
