Just quote a couple of spoiler-free sentences the book you’re reading to tempt other readers.
Here is mine:-
“Do you know Harriet, I have never been so sorry to leave somebody in my life, since I was a little boy and used to go to spend the afternoon with my old uncle who had been a soldier and fought with Roberts at Kandahar, and I would kick and scream and blubber whenmy mother came after tea to end our talk of bloodshed and rifles and Ashantis. You are as dear to me as if I had known you all my life, which I have not, and as exciting as if I had seen you for the first time this afternoon, which I have not either.”
I am at home in London. I have a lovely room in Kensington,in a big old house that has been divided up. The conversion was done a little hastily so I don’t have a front door. But it doesn’t matter, I have the French windows and I come and go through the garden.
